He married Emily Rutger Mason at Raspberry Plain Plantation, Loudoun Co., Va., on 24 October 1816.1 He married Mary B. Burwell on 13 June 1838. William died on 20 December 1863 at Richmond, Va.. He was buried after 20 December 1863 at Shockoe Cemetery, Richmond, Va.. U.S. Representative from Virginia 16th District, 1840-41.
