Archaeology Symposium
Mason Neck Underground: From Pre-History to the Early Republic

Between the Lines: Mason Neck During the Civil War, 1861-1865

The Two Georges: George Mason & George Washington

Explore the complex relationship between George Mason and George Washington in a Two Georges mansion tour, a hearth kitchen visit, a library exhibit, and a screening of the film Fractured Union.

Liberty Lecture Series
After the Revolution: Now What?
Sundays, February 26, March 4 and 11  •  3:00 p.m.

Now that independence has been won, what challenges face the former colonies? Distinguished lecturers will investigate the issues of creating a new nation. A book signing by the author will follow each presentation.

Kite Festival
Saturday, March 24 •  noon – 5:00 p.m.

Come fly a kite in our pastures.  Write with a quill pen, play 18th-century games, see period puppet shows, sample hearth cooking, climb on a modern fire truck, purchase colorful kites, spring plants, and gently used books.  Bring a picnic or buy one here.  

$10, adults; $6, for ages 6-18; $2, ages 2-5. $25 Family Admission. Friends free.

Open-Hearth Cooking Class, Level II
Saturday, March 31 and Sunday, April 1 • 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Prepare an 18th-century dinner with Gunston Hall's veteran hearth cooks. This advanced class is held in conjunction with the Fairfax County's Adult Community Education program (prerequisites: Level I class or instructor permission).
